I think Ted Rall is legally responsible for forcing thinking people to put up with the insipid whining from Aggie Dude.

Ted, given your infatuation with central state control,it always amazes me that you ever criticized GWB.

I've seen assholes, and the basement-dwelling techies at "TechDirt" fit the definiton of asshole to a "T."

It's funny. There's nothing more predictable then a bunch of so-called libertarian techies. They're such babies, completely cut-off from any discussion about internet regulation.

"Wahhhh. We want our free internet!! If musicians/artists want our money they'll just have to figure out the new paradigm!! Wahhhh. Luddites won't win!!! Wahhhh."

They're so pathetic and they didn't even consider the ideas in your post. I guess thinking is a little tough for the millenials. (Also, did you notice how most of them posted anonymously? They love that.)

Tom Tomorrow said it best recently.

Tomorrow’s Law (After Godwin): anyone skeptical of internet triumphalism will inevitably be compared to an old man ranting about the kids on his lawn.

Ted, you forgot to mention the fact that the Italian decision came down in Berlusconi's Italy, a land where the biggest media baron (Silvio Berlusconi), is also the Prime Minister (Silvio Berlusconi).

It ought to be tossed into the comments on how much authority a decision in Italy has on a company in the United States, where information passes through from every legal corner of the globe.

I think the Rall forum should open up a place where all of your fans can discuss various issues related to electronic/internet freedom.

Also, these tech dirt guys don't sound too incredibly libertarian.

And SFJazz, go fuck your self. I'm a millenial. I think NOBODY on this blog has looked at the Italian national and political context of this Italian court ruling. Aside from a throwaway comment by Ryan, nobody has ANALYSED this from a local perspective.

A desire by the Italian establishment/state structure to control the flow of information in an already (electronic) media controlled environment, whilst abiding by E.U/First World rules is something that should be deeply considered.

I fucking hate libertarians. Or, rather, Libertarians. Republican racists who like to smoke dope as one of my old friends calls them.

More like Commie columnist gone wild. SFJazz, Tom Tomorrow's law is broken in that you folks really are clueless about the internet, and you will always be.
Hemlock, what's racist about smoking dope, not that I condone it? Are there really only two political options in your little world?
