So...why are we really there?

And then we'll leave, but not take any of our military hardware, especially land mines. Twenty years down the road (if we're still a nation), we'll send special teams back to look for the DNA of our MIAs. We'll give buckets of money to farmers and other survivors of our war on terror to tell us where the plane went down, etc. Then we'll send a spoonful of DNA back home in an appropriate flag-draped container (flags made in China, of course). Containers, too. In order to give the MIA's family closure. In the meantime, 80-ish George W. Bush is skydiving next to his 100-ish meal-ticket Daddy. After a long battle with alcoholism, Barbara Bush's eyes were laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery. It's the least our country can do to honor the mother of one of the worst mass murderers and all-around fuckup in the history of the USA. Dick Cheney went beserk during a snipe hunt and shotgunned to death 32 members of a Mexican immigrant farmworker family. When asked by a reporter why he couldn't have stopped at, say, ten or fifteen murders, Cheney growled, "Go fuck yourself!"

This is fun and insightful, as are all of Ted's war-related, non-Commie cartoons and writings. What I cannot understand is why Ted's army is overwhelmingly white, when the real US Army is not so.

Incidentally, that is one the reasons, IMHO, DC bureaucrat's wars are so repulsive: not only because of the human cost bore by the foreign victims, but also for the human cost for the American poor (white and non-white).

Ted,

Is this all still to do with the TAP pipeline? Is that the reason why we are still trying to back Karzai? In the hopes that maybe he'll cut us a good deal? If so, Obama really is missing the boat here. Why not just spend the money on becoming the new world leader in clean energy. If this war really is about angling to get that TAP pipeline built, why not refocus on wind, solar, fuel cells, etc.? Supposedly Japan is already way ahead of us - they are starting to use hydrogen fuel cells to heat their homes. While we waste time chasing oil...

Al Qeada is a boogie man. Smoke and mirrors. Just a way to justify giving trillions to a handful of corporate creeps.

And let's see, warriors that refuse to leave even when the enemy is a huge empire with (seemingly, until AFTER the war!) limitless cash and troops, ones that stay and fight till their last breath...

--The Spartans (and Thespians) at Thermopylae

--The Alamo...

America turned what would have been a bunch of pathetic murderous cowards most Muslims considered an embarrassment into heroes... Really, from a relative having international friends, I used to hear 3rd hand jokes about the "Taliban" and we went "Who?" and got explained, and that was even before the destruction of the Baymain Buddhas...

Not to worry over Ted's non-inclusion of non-white military personnel. In a past cartoon, Ted gave a woman three breasts. It happens. Like a military cemetery with only Christian crosses over all the graves. It happens.
