There's a gi-normous discussion between me and Matt Bors in the current issue of The Comics Journal. It's an intergenerational discussion about editorial cartooning, politics, etc. We think you should read it.

Can you think of any conservatives who are in a similar boat to everyone from DP/TT to Jen Sorenson, which I assume includes Bors and Dangle and so on?
I know Stantis (Prickly City) and Tinsley (Mallard Fillmore) both do editorial cartoons, although not often, nor widely distributed, but as far as I know their limited output there is their personal choice. Tinsley's stuff is unrecognizable as Mallard Fillmore creator cartooning. Chris Muir of Day by Day I've never heard of doing editorial cartoons per se.
Probably that brings up a side issue - how many panel cartoonists for weeklies, etc. are actually trying to also be editorial cartoonists? Conversely, how many cartoonists like Wuerker, who've found a niche doing editorial cartoons for left-wing magazines, have also done panels?
And how would anyone - newspaper or otherwise - find off-the-beaten track editorial cartoonists? Is it even possible?
Can't actually read the page you linked to, my good man. It's for subscribers only.
I'd probably be more likely to read it if it weren't in a paid-subscription portion of the site. I'm not morally opposed to paying for things, but I don't read enough comics to want to subscribe to TCJ.
WDidn't say nothin' 'bout no paid subscription. Hell, I'll just finish my MAD January 2010. Yee Hawww!
Even if it's free, it's a hassle to open an account and leave my private data on TCJ just for one article. Too bad, maybe next time Ted & Matt.
Sorry for the confusion. After first announcing that this material would be free, TCJ reversed course and then decided not to release it until after the print edition appears, which will be within a few weeks. So I'll re-post this if and when it occurs.
With Christmas coming up, Ted must need a few extra sheckles and was hoping people would sign up so he could collect the commission. too bad no one takes comedians seriously enough to pay to hear them attempt a serious discussion. Nice try though.
