Because the CD is better than the mp3...? If you are that particular about it, just get all the songs and burn them on a cd and viola, you have what you would buy.

It's available at Amazon, for $8.99.

The Amazon version is MP3. Need the CD. MP3s sound like crap on my stereo.

What bitrate are you ripping your MP3s at? I have all my CDs ripped at 320kbps and I can't tell that I'm listening to a compressed file. Granted, 320 is less compressed than the standard 170-190 but it still takes up far less space than a raw .wav file and I'm unable to distinguish the difference between the two when listening.

Sadly, most stores don't sell high-bitrate MP3s - another reason to forgo downloads for hard media. Of course, I could also mention that most musicians make more money when you buy a CD as opposed to an MP3 but nobody cares about the financial woes of musicians. Many independent musicians have taken to making their albums download-only because while they can sell T-shirts, they can't seem to sell albums on CD.

We've entered the era of lo-fi listening...and I hate it!

Perhaps I do not understand the fine or gross difference between the original CD and MP3 of Ganymede's "Space and Time." I listened to several audio clips I found via Google, and it all sounds like.........
Disco!

It's one of my dirty secrets. I like synthpop.

Dirty it is.

Synthpop lacks the authenticity of electronically amplified guitar strings recorded by an electric microphone and digitally mastered for playback on a computerized appliance. But what it lacks in down-home authenticity is more than compensated for by its ability to irritate tired old hippies.

I'll see your Black Flag and raise you one Orchestral Maneuvers In The Dark.
