Cartoon for November 5, 2009

This one was inspired by a ridiculous list of lame Obama "accomplishments" posted by one of the anonymous trolls on the Rallblog. Thanks, troll!

THAT'S FUCKING AWESOME!!! I actually inspired a Ted Rall Cartoon.

Full Disclosure: I poached that list from Bob Cesca (www.bobcesca.com)

Ted: I think I'm entitled to the original for free, yes?

Funny how out of all the trolls on Rall's blog, the one he chooses to acknowledge directly was an Obama supporter.

I think that's really telling...

Gimme a break, Aggie. Telling how? I watch Fox News too. Hint: I get more ideas listening to those with whom I disagree.

As for Mr. A:

Can't send you an original if you don't have a name. (Don't bother now.)

Actually Ted, I'm glad you made this cartoon. Frankly, I'm sick and tired of the enablers like Bob Cesca who constantly list these small ticket items as major accomplishments while the world burns around Obama. Your cartoon is perfect.

I still think I should get the original gratis, but it sounds like you've decided against it.

Telling in that you choose to acknowledge an Obama-supporting troll and conveniently ignore the rabidly abusive trolls that diminish the quality of discourse on your blog.

It's telling in the sense that I think you have an agenda in allowing rodents to be abusive and only step in to "level the field" when your regulars who actually have blogger accounts band together.

I have no idea what you're referring to with watching Fox News...though I stopped watching TV news in 1996....television "news" is a cancer on critical thinking skills.

Give you a break?!? Why?

Gimme a break is an expression.

I block a lot of troll posts before you ever get to see them. Those I let on I do because they reveal something worth discussing. I don't want this to become DailyKos, where everyone agrees with one another.

I admit, I almost feel sorry for AD on this one. I imagine it's frustrating to think you are intellectually superior to conservatives and yet you cannot use one fact to refute any posted here supporting a conservative position. This isn't the sterile academioc atmosphere he is used to, where anyone countering the almighty associate professor is ridiculed in class, or even worse, dinged a grade.

I feel your pain, however I just know that one of these days you will be as factually superior as you think you are intellectually superior.

Best of luck!

(And by the way, during certain day-parts, more Democrats watch Fox news then total audience for CNN or MSNBC. But then those must be narrow minded non-thinking Democrats right AD?

At the time of your writing, there weren't any "conservative positions" on this thread. You couldn't wait for another chance to add an ad hominem attack, could you?

But anyway, we remain in awe of your "factual superiority."

"I don't want this to become DailyKos"

Lords yes. I love that site but sometimes the readers are dumbtarded in their willingness to trip over each other to agree with each other. Also there is sometimes a frightening lack of historical knowledge.

Example: a diary from earlier today (http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2009/11/5/306/58380) talked about Uzbeki torture as if was somehow an unheard of subject. Also the apparently novel idea that the war in Afghanistan is about control of energy pipelines.

Apparently Michael Moore can say the latter thing in a highly popular and discussed movie and yet somehow (some) Kossacks react as if it is unheard of???

I don't buy it Ted, nothing I've seen BJ post in the past two weeks has been in any way relevant to your material. In what way is he adding something worth discussing? All he does is single people out and attack them. God forbid you try to confront him, that just makes it worse.

Nice one Ted. I guess Mr Obama must get around and immediately address and alleviate the Mad Max like situation that is developing in (by your perceptions) in the US of A.

I also duly acknowledge that I enjoy the intellectually adversarial environment you create over here; and admit that as far as my living memory serves you have never blocked one of my posts.

You have however, when I believe submitted them first, let a few adversarial (to my view) posts accumulate and then let all 10 of them loose on your blog; thus diluting the effect of the acid I enjoy lacing my posts with. Dilute Hydrochloric Acid.

Cute trick though, Teddy.

Oh and the reason Obamaites don't strongly disagree with him is because:

1) They like him being smart

2) He is in every manner the anti-Bush. I have a feeling (and what with Hello Kitty being a perfect symbol for him) that Obama's supporters have thrown their lot in with a man who ran an excellent marketting campaign (I Think some Marketting association of America gave the Obama campaign the prize for Number One marketting campaign of 2008) and fits a Targetted Demographic (Marketting) Type.

Obama's supporters love how he's smart; they love his love for their technologies (You fit the demographic too Ted) and above all they love him being the total anti-thesis of George Bush.

Even Bill Maher said it, Obama needs some George Bush "Meanness" to get his resolutions passed toughly.

Obama's lack of that characteristic is what makes him appeal to a seriously large target demographic, and makes that demographic not push him to follow through on his promises.

That demographic doesn't do "Pushing".

And Ted; since you "pushed" ;-) that you are more responsive to readers with actual blogger accounts - I'll get one too in a few days.

Anybody agree/disagree with the targetted demographic theory?

It fits the same demography as "Hello Kitty!" followers

Really. Look it up.

Obama is not the Anti-Bush. He kept the Bush secrecy and spy tactics.

He's just another tool of the corporations.

Re: Grouchy - EXACTLY, not only this, but BJ and other conservative trolls on this blog intensify the severity of their attacks immediately following one of Ted's comments justifying their participation. BJ just couldn't wait for a relevant context in which to dish up another round of inconsequential belittling.

First it was about freedom of speech and censorship, now the excuse is that he doesn't want everyone to agree.

What's the real reason, Ted? Do you get satisfaction seeing the mean spirited conservative American in action, abusing all those who dare to dismiss their outright stupidity? Does it validate your worldview to see it? Or do you just think we all deserve it for not always seeing things YOUR way. Oh wait, wouldn't it be boring if we all saw it your way?

Please answer: what does BJs comment on this thread add that's worth discussing?

It's 2009. Everybody knows comments on blogs are garbage. Everybody knows that anybody who intentionally reads comments to articles on blogs in 2009 is volunteering to have malicious, sadistic strangers shit on their face.

Anybody who RUNS a blog who wants any outcome different from that has to STOP IT.

Grow up in what way? Do you mean become more like you? Should I resign myself to the "fact" that, as Anon 5:23 suggests, this blog is controlled by "Everybody knows comments on blogs are garbage." and that Moderators are incapable of enforcing a dignified level of decorum (which Ted is clearly unwilling to actually do)?

Does this mean I should just shut up and do what I'm told like a good little monkey? Does being all grow'd up mean pretending that trolls like BJ have something reasonable to say?

Well....NEVER!!!!!! But, nice try.

There you go. "Dear Mr. Dude. Please grow up. Thank you." Completely, 100% ad hominem, ha ha Aggie Dude is a child he sucks. No other content at all. Moderator approved.

Anon 11:40 - absolutely, Ted apparently believes that is worth discussing my maturity and status as an adult. I deduce this because he says everything he approves is on the basis of adding something worth discussing.

Ted, what did that add worth discussing?

I too was furious reading that dk column. Had they not heard of the British intelligence reports? The resignations over the torture, gas lines, growing materials? The eagerness to agree with each other was astounding. It blew me away that such a smart site was such.

Again thank you for mentioning this. Wanted to set them right but they were. Hah.

Obama is a cia plant duh.

Been telling you this for awhile now. Years. The tribune backed his senate campaign. Hello???? They even got his opponent out (very difficult case pulling strings in a California court) backed his bid. Yes ys the marketing campaign was important. But he was groomed long ago. Then just adjust the people and viola. So there you have it. So when everything gets bad they can blame the "other side" and all is well again. Of course by then there may not be anything left to fight over but hey we were not talking intelligence were we really?

Again he works for the other side. Good luck.

All these littl "wins" just cover for the basic fact that we have no representatives. Oh the mean other side won't let me do anything. At least I got this done. The other side doesn't care about that. Chump change. Just like abortion, gay marriage guns etc. Those are just get out the vote stuff.

Oh please you know this already.

No, I think it means not reading or posting comments at all. Ted apparently likes abusive trolls. Some kind of Stockholm syndrome thing maybe.
