Cartoon for November 12, 2009

We seriously need to retire words like "hero" and phrases like "my heart goes out to _____." The Fort Hood victims were that--victims. We've devalued the word "hero" to the point that it is now meaningless.

This week's cartoon was inspired by watching the unbearably cheesy pep rally masquerading as a memorial service at Fort Hood yesterday.

This is the price we pay for not apprehending Bin Laden and letting the WMD lie slide. And some still try to justify it.

We need to also retire the word "genius", which has also been rendered meaningless. When a word that has been used to describe Albert Einstein is applied to Will Ferrell, it's time (unfortunately) to retire the word. It's a disgrace for anyone to call Ferrell a genius (which they have), especially when they defend it by saying there is genius in comedy and Ferrell has it. No he doesn't. He's a completely talentless moron who yells his unfunny lines, thinking that makes them funny. What it makes him is a talentless moron.

Lenny Bruce was a comedic genius.
Ernie Kovacs was a comedic genius.
Will Ferrell is a talentless moron.

Unfortunately, we have to retire the word.

Ronald Reagan, as President, began the redefinition of 'hero.' Reagan's burial place (thank you, Nancy Smith Reagan) is almost as large as Rhode Island and as big as the lie that Nancy and co-conspirators kept secret, that her Ronnie didn't have symptoms of Alzheimer's Disease during his second term in the White House.
The USA, collectively, did nothing then, and it shoudn't be a surprise that we will do nothing about the vile usurpations of our Constitution now. We love our Royalty, as much as and more than the British. Don't like the broad guilt trip? Tough shit. And that's the truth...(loud raspberry).

Pride is another word we can do without.

I don't think the term "hero" should be retired cause I think there are legit people who should be called "heroes." If anything, those of us on the left should start calling liberal groups who really fight for our freedoms (opposed to those in the military who don't, but since we keep saying they do, enough people believe the lie) heroes. We should start treating the unions and groups like the ACLU and ACORN like heroes cause they are.

This is the second time I have seen you complain that an event of mourning was too much like a Pep Rally.

If you say so, then here is a model demostration of mourning carried out by an ally Anglo Country of the United States:

Britain's Remembrance Sunday Parade

And for a serious act of solemnity in a very informal environment:

Remembrance Day Service at Camp Bastion, Afghanistan

Sincerely
