We know the mission, Ted. This is the same mission as every military engagement the United States has engaged in since the end of World War II left US industry based solely on the production of military hardware as the most profitable industry.

The mission is to keep the American public arguing about creationism vs. evolution, gay marriage and taxes while the majority of our public funds get soaked up by an endless war machine.

We've all known this since Eisenhower made the warning, it's just we talk ourselves out of our knowledge of it, berate each other, argue about insignificant details, and attack each others dignity, motives and credibility.

There is no other purpose.

Be specific. Didn't see any of that for this cartoon.
In a broader, social-phenomenon perspective concerning the Internet, instead of branding 'anonymous' voices cowards, ask why many genuine opinions and posts wouldn't want certain S.O.B. politicians, journalists and religious websites, for example, to know the contributors' names, addresses and phone numbers? Would I want Dick Cheney to know where he can 'reach out' to me? No fucking way! Remember J. Edgar Hoover and Richard Nixon and that turn-of-the-century postal official who had a multitude of immigrants deported after he read their private mail. Ever received a response from a politician or lobbyist that sent a chill up and down your spine? Ever been targeted by a public official for doing good works in your community? Should we all be brave Americans, never afraid of home-grown threats, real and perceived? Yes. Of course. That's what they taught us in grammar school. Then we discovered the real world.
Question is, why ARE some people so ignorant and hateful, willing and unwilling to declare their identities? For the likes of Coulter and Limbaugh and Beck, it's the M-O-N-E-Y. The BIG money. Then they hire bodyguards and reside in 'secure' homes on acres of land with tall fences.
When people are offended, they can always press the 'off' button. Or become a devotee of Oprah.

No reason to put effort into a serious comment, it'll just be countered by some inane, thoughtless, adolescent 'gotcha' remark.

"saggie gal" is clearly a belittling pun on my blog handle, meaning that from the beginning this anonymous individual intended to berate...aside from anything else being said.

Ted chooses to disregard this and thus fails to moderate his own blog in a responsible way. In so doing, he is aiding and abetting the adolescent and childish degradation of discourse.

I anticipate a "dude, calm down, you're taking this way too seriously". . .or "don't you have anything better to do?" type of response.

It's a no-win scenario. It's intended to be one.

"adolescent 'gotcha' remark.".
You mean when you are caught misquoting someone, accusing them of being a racist and then you can't back up your quote, so your response is "well that's what they meant"? Or do you mean when you are presented with quotes of Democrats calling blacks "nigger" and you cannot refute them? Or are you referring to the many times I have presented fact (with source) to help correct you and the other statists here? Then when presented with these facts, instead of refuting them you go off on a infantile tempre tantrum and take you toy home? Geeez for someone who claims to be an "educator" you have very thin skin when it comes to holding your own intellectually. But I understand, most of my liberal college professors were the same. After a grinding 6 hours of work each week they couldn't take the stress of being confronted with fact. They prefer theory.

Are you an imbecile? Are you too stupid to understand what's being discussed on here?

Johnson was recorded saying the word "nigger." Why would anybody refute that? And why would anybody try to refute whatever retarded conclusion that you haven't even been able to articulate?

Grouchy,

Thanks for that, I literally could not formulate a response to his remarks there. It was just beyond me, I didn't know where to start!

I'm just in awe, really.

It's a morass of stupid. Even skirting the edge is dangerous.

I think it's more ass than stupid actually, nobody is actually THIS stupid....especially if they went to college, which he suggests he has.

Maybe he went to Liberty University or something
