New Animation! Mercenary Madness

The news that the government has been using Blackwater for just about everything prompts this week's animated editorial cartoon. Fellow Paul Verhoeven fans will note the "Robocop" homage.

Enjoy, and happy Labor Day weekend!

The Blackwater guy holding the Red Phone sounds eerily like the little kid muttering "Redrum!" The pinky finger would have been appropriate al la Doctor Evil at the mention of "an extra billion here or there. (evil laugh)"

There's no evidence that drills were used on detainees. None. The usage was limited to running the drill within earshot, but not using it on bodies.

So why are you lying again Rall?

I wonder if Blackwater's name change to XE, pronunced like the letter Z, has the same meaning as the title of the movie "Z", being that their leader is a hyper christian after all.

The "Shining" reference is intentional.

As for 2nd anonymous, do you know what editorial cartoons are? This is one.

"running drill within earshot, but not using it on bodies."
I shoot a gun within earshot of someone's puddin' head and that person WILL GO DEAF! But I didn't DO anything, because I didn't touch flesh. Words escape me!

To Anon, "Used" versus "Threatened to Use". And considering some of the rendition involves vivisecting people live with scalpels, why bother to deny such a charge?

Good one, Ted!

This one's not so good, but the voices rule!

I like it. The horror that we actually have a private militia running this nation is inescapably hideous. And I live in the state where these motherfuckers are based!

I got to give Blackwater some credit. At least they provide the services for which they charge so exorbitantly. That sets them above a lot of government contractors who just send bills for work that may or may not have been done.
