There's a little spin in that, I don't how intentionally, on the part of our favorite Mideast War cartoonist: the article I read says that most of the people that had been fired 20 years ago still haven't caught up with their ex-colleagues who kept their jobs. That's just a little bit different than saying they still haven't caught up with their earnings of 20 years ago, but hey, what's a little misreading between friends? Before anyone says I'm callous: I know it's not an easy situation. I've been there myself twice, the first time for the simple fact that the company I worked for went belly up after one of our only two clients canceled the project that had kept us afloat. I wonder what the magical Tedonomics solution for that would be. And, to the second Anon: I hope you understand that what you get after you rid yourself completely from the shackles of the free market is not something like Sweden, but rather something like Cuba or North Korea.
And that's because the rich elite keep "Shuffling the Deck" and making sure everyone's a bit poorer.
The rich are the enemy. There's no need for "Conspiracy" talk, they simply have too much but extreme wealth is more damaging to the soul than dire poverty, so they keep soaking up more and more money with no care what they do to others or even the society they parasite off of.
It's time to ask:
What does man truly need?
The answer is simple:
food shelter companionship a place in society -and/or- a purpose in life reasonable comfort and relaxation
This should be considered a "Human Right" and anyone who does anything against it is "The Enemy" as sure as any fictional terrorist or other "Menace". The ultra rich should no longer be admired, but seen as the worst stereotype of "Welfare Bums".

Wal-Mart needs plenty of greeters!!
Whaddaya mean? A free market where rich motherfuckers decide what you're worth every day is the best thing for everyone!!
I remember hearing that somewhere anyway.
