I'm hoping to sell negative shares of stock!
I've always found humor in the "productivity" figures of which nations and corporations are so proud. What is means is the most work done for the least amount of pay.
Fuck that.
Something about this cartoon reminds me of "The President's Analyst" (1967), in particular, Arlington Hewes, President of TPC (The Phone Company), in reality, a robot who was plugged into the floor at the heel.
But then, there are many stories (movies), new and old, that describe the insanity that is corporate America (world-wide, with no loyalties to any country), the unrestricted greed, the CEOs who don't have the decency to kill themselves as Edgar G. Robinson did at the conclusion of "All My Sons" (1948).
Perhaps the pods that descended to earth in "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" (1956) weren't just a figment of a sci-fi writer's imagination, but reside in every fucking CEO, lobbyist and lawmaker in the Congress of the Divided States of America (thank you, George W. Fkng Bush and Dick Fkng Cheney and Karl 'Seig Heil' Fkng Rove).
Sounds like a workers paradise, where nobody has to work.
And what will the disenfranchised do about it? Oh yeah, I almost forgot. Blog. Commiserate. Watch Desperate Housewives reruns.
LOL at the unemployed. Ya gotta love 'em! Their jobs get outsourced to China and they take the only thing left to them - a job at WalMart - with a smile on their face. LOL!
Blog away!
Great One TED!!
i actually laughed outloud
at panel #3
i'll nominate it for ..... something.

It's the flip-side of cubicle workers, particularly government workers, maximizing their pay and minimizing the amount of work actually done.
Finally got around to watching the animation ("Googling while America burns"). -- Internet filters block me from seeing the animations at work, which is where I spend, y'know, 80% of my waking hours.
Just a week ago, I complained that I missed the "flounder eyes" (on one side of the head). But this animation had another classic old Rall staple, namely somebody getting their brains blown out for little or no objective reason. That got a LOL out of me! Thanks for the trip down memory lane!
Shady, your worldview is the practiced expression of contempt and hatred for your fellow human beings. That 'success' is seen in terms of corporate earnings, rather than citizen quality of life, is criminally insane.
Why don't you shock the hell out of me and actually learn something from what I just wrote? I'm not holding my breath for that though.
They say it will be a jobless recovery. How does that work?

Simple. You don't.
Sorry, couldn't resist.

Well Aggie, for one, you might try being accurate in what I said.
I never said 'success' is seen in terms of corporate earnings, rather than citizen quality of life. You do this often. Put down the straw man for once.
The only people I have contempt for is people that have to brag about how intellectual and superior they are.
Shady....your bag is showing....big time.
