Cartoon for August 25

It took me a while to get around to commenting on McCain's plan for reducing oil prices--offshore drilling that might make a tiny dent in a decade or more, probably none at all.

By the way, there are serious articles discussing the possibility of drilling for oil on the moon or on other planets.

I'm all about mining for natural resources on other planets -particularly the asteroid belt. Along with that, I think we should move as much as we can to electric power and set up solar collectors in space. I know, I'm a star trekkie dork. . . my girlfriend tells me that all the time. . . .it's the principle of mercantilism though, you use others' resources, not your own.

Again, the discourse completely misses the overall objective. Reality is becoming a reality TV show.

You are kidding me, Ted. I guess this means that the widespread pandering to "intelligent design" has finally destroyed the American education system to the point where people are seriously planning on spending billions of dollars to go into space and test the Abiotic Oil theory? I'm pretty sure petroleum can only be formed from compressed plants and animals, so "drilling for oil on the moon and other planets" would imply either (a) life on the moon?? (b) abiotic oil. Don't gimme dis crap about methane hydrates, we have plenty of those frozen on Earth. Are your articles really talking about drilling for petroleum on other planets?

Seems like you could work up another cartoon about this subject. Oil on other planets. Amusing

the three breasts are a not-so-subtle nod to a director Ted has said he admires.

"You make me wish I had three hands"

Nice try, but God created life on Earth alone, so there is no chance for oil to form from decomposing organisms on other planets.

Doesn't putting information up for free on wikipedia undermine the encyclopedia industry?

Ted is all too happy to go against his own advice (as evidenced by his giving his own shit away for free)

However, the Wiki page does not link to online encyclopedias, but academic journals, which are available for free in colleges.

Your welcome.

Well, my "God created life" comment was total sarcasm anyway.
